A lot of thought has gone into this set-up, with Korda’s Neil Spooner having used it for years to perfect it, and it is his ‘take anywhere rig’ that he has used to great effect to land carp of all different sizes! The Wide Gape hook pattern is incredible in terms of it’s hooking potential anyway, but has been enhanced even more by the addition of a short length of shrink tube that helps to make the hook turn even more aggressively when in a carp’s mouth, and a small piece of silicon tubing on the shank of the hook ensures the hair comes off at the optimum point.

These new IQ D-Rigs are easily the most talked-about presentation from the latest Underwater films. Not only that but the rig’s inventor, Danny Fairbrass, has used it to great effect both at home and abroad in the last couple of seasons. He’s been steadily tweaking the rig to get it working perfectly, and you can benefit because it’s now available in ready-tied form.

The Spinner rig is one of the most popular and effective carp-catching presentations around at the moment, but tying them from scratch can be time consuming, not to mention daunting if you have never attempted it before. Booms QC are tied on 7.5 inches or 5.5 inches of 25lb Boom fluorocarbons, with a loop at one end, and a QC swivel at the other, and they make it incredibly easy to set a Spinner rig up. Simply tease open the QC swivel with a Krimp tool, just enough to thread on your hook, and then pinch it shut. Slide on a Kicker to secure the hook in place, and then simply add a Micro Rig Swivel and Hook Bead to complete the rig. A piece of Dark Matter putty can be moulded around the loop knot if required to balance your hookbait.

Tied to the Korda product development team’s exacting specifications, the new range of ready-tied zig rigs take all the hassle out of tying perfect zig rigs and they come with three free foam hook baits in pink, yellow and black. With a choice of 12, 10, 8 and 6ft rigs tied to barbed or barbless Mixa hooks and 8lb mono, the range covers every eventuality and the EVA foam spools protect the rigs, leaving them ready for action at a moment’s notice.

Our ready-tied chod rigs really are perfection in a packet! Not only are they super-convenient, they’re also flawlessly tied. In fact, we’re not sure that any of our experienced chod-rig anglers, Danny Fairbrass included, could tie a neater version! Each rig has been tied to exacting standards, using the same knots and techniques that Danny uses for his own rigs. That means that each ready-tied rig has been constructed using Dan’s special whipping knot, which gives unrivaled neatness and allows the knot to sit perfectly on the shank.

Solid PVA bags are an incredibly effective way of fishing, and it is a favourite method of carp ace and TV celebrity angler Ali Hamidi. The clever system will allow us all to reach brand-new heights of neatness in rig creation! The Krimps and Krimp tool have been designed to allow easy rig construction with stiff materials. In particular we’re really excited about the potential to create extremely neat loops for chod rigs. Not only this but using Krimps will allow you to create chod rigs that are exactly the same length each and every time. There are two sizes of Krimp available which have been designed to suit different materials. The smaller one will suit normal stiff materials and stiff coated braids like our Hybrid Stiff and the larger one is perfect for really thick materials (like 30lb plus mono).

Dark Matter Tungsten Hooklink Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies we’ve been able to add tungsten granules into the coating of the Dark Matter Coated Braid. This ensures the hook link sinks quickly and remains pinned down on the lake bed. Dark Matter Coated Braid has a semi-stiffness and is perfect to create a variety of modern rigs. During the intensive testing period consultants have been using it in the most demanding situations and caught fish of near record sizes whilst having complete confidence in their hook link.
