Hook Baits

Our arti­fi­cial Buoyant Maggots have now accounted for an incred­ible number of big tench, bream and carp. They rep­resent truly excel­lent value for money and are deadly when used crit­ic­ally bal­anced with both maggot feeders and Method feeders, in particular! The three different sizes of Buoyant Maggot can be used on a wide range of hooks to produce effective baits that are sinking, critically balanced or popped up. They are also very effective in conjunction with a live maggot or as a combination bait with real or artificial sweetcorn. These baits are also pineapple flavoured and dusted in food grade starch powder. The pineapple flavour is a proven attractant which can be boosted or even over-ridden by immersion in more concentrated flavours.

This sweetco has been designed and selected specifically for fishing and we believe it offers the perfect compromise between being tough enough to stay on the hook when cast and soft enough that the fish will readily take the bait.It comes supplied in a 340g ring pull can so you don’t have to mess around taking a can opener to the bank.

A Bandum is the perfect hookbait for using with a bait band, its unique cylindrical shape with bulbous ends means that they can be banded with ease using a Pellet Bander or a Bait Bander. The bait band sits neatly in the middle slimmer section of the Bandum, this means the hook sits perfectly in the middle of the bait meaning more hooked fish. Also, the Bandum is less likely to be pulled off the hair meaning you can fish more confidently and more efficiently. When fishing for skimmers, match carp or F1's or fishing through the winter months choosing the right sized hookbait is essential and this is when 6mm Band'ums are the perfect choice. They are the smallest in the range, the perfect size for a mini Method Feeder, Pellet Feeder, Banjo Feeder or even fishing on the straight lead and create a visual target which can lead to faster bites, 6mm Band'ums also make an excellent hookbait when using the waggler or pole

Feeding Maize and fishing with a small stack of it on a hair rig is a very effective way of fooling carp and other big fish on waters where they have seen a lot of boilies and wised up to them. Maize looks a bit like giant sweetcorn and shares many of the same properties such as its sweet juice which is stored within the can as it is packed and then cooked. Large jars are available for times when you want to fish with a bed of bait or you can get tins for times when you only want a few hookbait samples. Particularly good also for tench, bream, chub and barbel and carp, this sweetcorn contains: sweetcorn grains, water, sugar, salt, colouring E 110, artificial flavours. Best to use as hook bait or mix with groundbait, the bait contains no artificial preservatives or toxic substances and offers a net weight of 340g per tin. Once drained you have 285g of corn. The liquid is useful to add to those dry mixes that you wish to turn into bait balls!

Perfectly suited to feeder fishing lakes for carp and bream these high oil hookbaits make a great target bait when using bloodworm groundbait or feed pellets.
