One of the leading monofilament lines on the market, ESP Crystal Carp Mono brings you everything you need for carp angling success. An abrasion-resistant line which boasts excellent knot strength, this mono line can be fished in almost any conditions, and relied upon to bring your results to the bank. Available in a choice of three breaking strains, on a 1000m spool, this clear mono line gives you the flexibility to fish the way you want, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing your tackle won’t let you down. Strong enough for the most challenging venues and heaviest carp, this is a line that’s been crafted for performance, and designed to endure.
The new Long Chuck main line has been designed specifically for fishing at long range and will add extra yards to your cast compared to a standard mono. It is ultra-low stretch to enable quicker compression of the rod blank, and alongside the fact that it has very low water absorption, it also helps when trying to feel the lead down at range or in a cross wind. That low water absorption also helps ensure that the line stays lightweight and stays in the air for longer, thus helping to lower the drag on the lead during flight, but the biggest factor in achieving that is the fact that the line is clear – adding a dye to a mono line increases the weight, as well as altering the molecular structure and creating more stretch, all of which means that coloured lines won’t cast as far. Long Chuck also features a high breaking strain to diameter ratio, which significantly reduces both the drag and the weight of the line, compared to an equivalent breaking strain – 10lb is 0.27mm; 12lb is 0.30mm; 15lb is 0.33mm; and 20lb is 0.40mm. It is supplied on 1,000m spools.
These shock leaders have been designed specifically for long range fishing to help you achieve maximum distance without the risk of a crack-off, and are perfect when used in conjunction with the Long Chuck main line. There are three different combinations of Long Chuck Tapered Leader, which allows you to match it to the breaking strain of main line that you are using, thus ensuring the neatest joining knot possible and also reducing the risk of ‘frap-ups’ (this usually occurs when different diameter lines are joined and a sudden change to the way it spirals off of the reel through the butt ring). Each leader is 10m long and features 8m of 30lb/0.47mm breaking strain line, to absorb the force of the cast as well as giving some protection when playing a fish due to its abrasion resistance – ideal when fishing over gravel bars – and then the last 2m tapers down from 0.47mm (30lb) to either 0.27mm (10lb), 0.30mm (12lb), or 0.33 mm (15lb) diameter, depending on which of the three versions you choose. The tapered leaders feature the same properties as the Long Chuck main line, with ultra-low stretch to help compress the rod (heavy mono is typically quite stretchy and hampers the cast); low water absorption; lightweight for its breaking strain, as it is clear (dye adds extra weight), so it stays in the air longer; and a high breaking strain to diameter ratio to reduce drag. Each spool contains five leaders.
The Long Chuck Tapered Mainline has been designed for casting at range in situations where you want to fish straight through without a leader knot – especially useful in weedy venues where that can gather around the knot and present problems under the rod tip. The Long Chuck Tapered Mainline comes on a 300m spool, and at each end of that it features an 8m section of 0.47mm (30lb) diameter line designed to take the force of the cast - as well as offering good abrasion resistance when playing a carp – plus a 2m tapering section down to whichever diameter of main line you have chosen. It is exactly the same at both ends, so should you experience a cut-off, you can simply reverse the line on your spool and use it again. This tapered main line feature the same properties as the Long Chuck main line, with ultra-low stretch to help compress the rod (heavy mono is typically quite stretchy and hampers the cast); low water absorption; lightweight for its breaking strain, as it is clear (dye adds extra weight), so it stays in the air longer; and a high breaking strain to diameter ratio to reduce drag. It comes in a choice of 10-30lb (0.27-0.47mm); 12-30lb (0.30-0.47mm); and 15-30lb (0.33-0.47mm).
This braid casts superbly well, thanks to its low diameter, allowing you to bait spots right at the limit of your casting ability. You’ll notice that it has a rather unusual fluoro green colour, which helps to deter seagulls when baiting up with a throwing stick or floater fishing. Gulls just won’t swoop down when the hi-viz line is snaking out across your swim.
This braid casts superbly well, thanks to its low diameter, and transmits the feel of the lake bed accurately back to your rod, allowing you to find the very best feeding areas with your marker float setup. There are 300m on each spool, so you’ll be able to spool up more than once, as long as you back your spool up.
The Basix Spod/Marker Braid can be used for either feature finding or baiting up with a spod/Spomb. This buoyant braid is perfect for use on your marker rod, as it has zero stretch and so allows you to better feel your lead across the lake bed and to determine what features are present in front of you. Its low diameter compared to the breaking strain of 30lb makes it very easy to cast, and long distances can be achieved with minimal effort.
As the name would suggest, Surface is a reel main line that has been developed specifically for use when fishing with floating baits on the waters surface.
Inherently buoyant for easy line pick up with excellent knot strength. Syncro Surface is supple yet highly abrasion resistant. It has optimum stretch with superb casting performance and the subtle grey tint is particularly inobtrusive.

Why create a monofilament mainline that offers excellent feel if it doesn’t preserve its great knot strength, superb abrasion resistance, fast sinking capabilities and a lovely smooth supple feel that anglers want. By developing one that brings together all of these features, this sets a new benchmark in performance copolymer mainlines. Finally, by manufacturing this in an awesome low-viz colour they have created something that simply outperforms other low stretch models in every way.
