Thanks to the carbon infused material and high quality machined aluminium parts, the reel has a low weight for it's size. The Daiwa Emblem Surf 45 SCW QD is a sturdy fixed spool surf reel which combines good looks and cutting edge features to give you a high performance reel to meet the needs of the modern beach angler. The extra-long 45mm spool is designed to give extra smooth line flow for long casting and it is just at home loaded with braid or mono line options. Daiwa have used their Mag sealed system to combat dirt and debris and protect the internal 'Digigear II' gearing system. These achieve fantastic casting and line lay thanks to the reduced oscillation speed 'Slow Cross Wrap', enhancing the line lay and distance. Daiwa 19 Emblem 45 SCW QD Reel The 45mm profile is recognised as the ultimate spool size for big distance casting. This new generation of Emblem utilises a reduced oscillation speed called Slow Cross Wrap, enhancing the line lay. The result is lower consumption of casting energy during line release, when combined with the friction reducing double lip profile of the LC spool increases casting distance by more than 5%. Supplied with a shallow C and spare deep LD spool; (300m – 0.35mm and 530m – 0.35mm). The C spool allows filling of three spools from 1000m of mono. Retrieval is geared down at 4.9:1 but still cranks up to 104cm per handle turn.
