Our artificial Buoyant Maggots have now accounted for an incredible number of big tench, bream and carp. They represent truly excellent value for money and are deadly when used critically balanced with both maggot feeders and Method feeders, in particular! The three different sizes of Buoyant Maggot can be used on a wide range of hooks to produce effective baits that are sinking, critically balanced or popped up. They are also very effective in conjunction with a live maggot or as a combination bait with real or artificial sweetcorn. These baits are also pineapple flavoured and dusted in food grade starch powder. The pineapple flavour is a proven attractant which can be boosted or even over-ridden by immersion in more concentrated flavours.
The dark coloured bands are also perfect for banding halibut pellets for barbel on rivers. These latex bait bands stretch more and grip better than previous versions and are flexible enough to be pulled through drilled pellets using a baiting needle. Pre-cut ready to use and, by buying the appropriately sized bands, they will fit all sizes of pellet. They are also flexible enough to be pulled inside drilled boilies and pellets using a Drennan Band Puller.
The Quick Snap Swivels come in four sizes, 12, 14, 16, and 18 and act as an anti-twist device. The larger sizes are ideal for bomb and feeder work whilst the smaller sizes are perfect for pole rigs and float setups.
Puller Beads are produced with different diameter central holes to suit a variety of solid and hollow pole elastics and are colour coded to match Drennan bungee colours and diameters. Manufactured in a semi-flexible polymer, they are designed to hold elastic knots securely in place and also allow adjustments to elastic tension..
The bulbous end makes a perfect stop for small sliding rings, or for trapping big pellet wagglers into position. Two or three Grippa Stops next to each other provide adjustable stops for link legers, light bombs and small feeders. The direction of the stop on the main line can also be reversed by taking it off the wire onto a loop of nylon and then transferring it to the reel line. They are made from a tough yet forgiving material that doesn’t damage the line.
The Grippa Stop’s bulbous end makes a perfect stop for small sliding rings, or for locking wagglers into position. Two Grippa Stops next to each other provide even more security when casting heavy bombs, wagglers and feeders. The direction of the stop on the main line can also be reversed by taking it off the wire onto a loop of nylon and then transferring it to the reel line.
Drennan Greased Weasel Shock Leader, Drennan Greased Weasel has got to be one of the best selling shock leaders ever made for sea fishing. Its high strength and abrasion resistance make it one of the most popular sellers. It is available in 3 colours and 3 breaking strains. Clear, Orange and Grey. 40LB, 50LB, 60LB. Ideal for shock leaders and rig bodies.
These Quick Change Beads are precision made from high-quality English tooling so that the two components have a nice consistent fit. The outer bead is semi-flexible and grips in place securely over the internal connector. This connector has a small recess above the central hole to accommodate the barrel of the knot, which is formed when attaching the reel line. The internal unit has an average breaking strain of 20lb (9kg). Rather than an obtrusive black, Quick Change Beads come in much more discrete green and camo colours.
They are available in four sizes, 18, 14, 11 and 9. They are free rotating swivels with round eyes and a matt finish and cover all fresh water angling situations.
The rubber bead is designed to house the top ring and barrel of the swivel and leave the bottom ring protruding and free to rotate. Using a five-turn grinner knot in the following reel lines, the knot will fit neatly inside the bead.
They are produced in a super slick, hard grade polymer that slides beautifully on monofilament, the clip link is easy to open and is masked by exactly the right length of silicone tube to prevent tangles. The three sizes are designed to work perfectly with Swivel Stop Beads and Quick Change Beads. Run Rings offer a free running setup perfect for fishing targeting a variety of species such as barbel, chub, carp, bream, tench and even perch and eels. Each pack comes with four green and four brown Run Rings and are available in three sizes ranging from small to large.
The compact design makes them an ideal choice for catching carp in the upper layers or casting across to island swims. These feature-packed floats are 11mm in diameter and come in 4g, 5g, 6g and 7g sizes. The highly visible tips are flighted to aid casting accuracy and available in a choice of red, orange or yellow. The position of the streamlined base weight also helps with arrow-straight casting and a pair of removable discs allows for additional fine-tuning. These floats also come with optional dive discs that help to reduce plunging on splashdown – particularly useful when catching ultra shallow. The bodies are super buoyant, tough and designed to cope with catching large numbers of carp. Being clear they are also far less conspicuous in the water compared to painted alternatives. Shorty Pellet Wagglers have been designed and manufactured in our own factories to the same meticulous standards as our larger XL Pellet Wagglers and are destined to be even more popular – if that’s possible!
We recommend leaving a gap of around 6mm between the locking shot, rubber beads or Grippa Stops to allow the float to fold cleanly on the strike. This should result in a cleaner connection with a bite.
These excellent Swivel Float Attachments allow the float to fold over completely on the strike and the swivel mechanism ensures that they are virtually tangle free.
Monofilament falls into two distinct categories: The first is stuff that’s long life, tough, abrasion resistant and doesn’t damage easily. Unfortunately, it is prone to be springy and come off the reel in coils. The second category is extremely supple and limp and very easy to manage both on the reel and in casting. But it tends to be soft and more prone to damage. Amazingly, Supplex has the best of both. It is incredibly supple, (that’s how it gets it's name!) but at the same time, it is tough, long life, abrasion resistant and not prone to damage, including shot damage.
