Exhaustive breaking strain tests have shown that a spliced section of approximately 30mm (1 ½inch) is sufficient to obtain maximum join strength.

This tough, semi-stiff, matte camo braid is the perfect all-round coated hooklink. Tried, tested and perfected in conjunction with Terry Hearn, this hooklink doesn’t require putty or steaming. All 10 metres fall straight off the spool and sink to the lakebed.

ESP Tungsten Loaded is a heavy sinking coated braid with an ultra-strong Dyneema core. Since its launch in 2015 it has become widely regarded as the best coated hooklink available. The tough, matt camo tungsten coating sinks heavily and strips easily while being resilient to fracturing on knots. Straightens without steaming. The super strong Dyneema core has an achievable knot strength of over 30lb. This soft version is perfect for subtle presentations with hook baits such as small boilies and nuts. Balanced or buoyant baits combined with the inherent suppleness of the braid will help the rig settle perfectly while still pushing the bait away from the lead. ESP Chod Rig Leadcore Leaders, ESP Chod Leaders are designed to be used in conjunction with the incredibly effective chod rig presentation. Made using ESP Leadcore and including Leadcore Stop Beads and the specially designed ESP Chod Rig Sleeve plus a quick change clip link to hold the lead. Perfect when used with the ESP ready made chod rig, the top bead is simply removed before sliding the chod rig hook link on and replacing the top bead over the short section of silicone tube. The Chod Rig Sleeve acts as a streamlined sleeve housing the lead retaining clip link and the extended section of soft silicone tube provides a shock absorbing buffer when playing fish and also prevents the hook point from coming into contact with the lead on the cast. ESP Leadcore is highly abrasion resistant, extremely supple and leaders are spliced at both ends to give a streamlined joint with maximum breaking strain. Available in Choddy Silt, Original Camo and Weedy Green with 3 leaders per packet in 1.0m lengths

These shock leaders have been designed specifically for long range fishing to help you achieve maximum distance without the risk of a crack-off, and are perfect when used in conjunction with the Long Chuck main line. There are three different combinations of Long Chuck Tapered Leader, which allows you to match it to the breaking strain of main line that you are using, thus ensuring the neatest joining knot possible and also reducing the risk of ‘frap-ups’ (this usually occurs when different diameter lines are joined and a sudden change to the way it spirals off of the reel through the butt ring). Each leader is 10m long and features 8m of 30lb/0.47mm breaking strain line, to absorb the force of the cast as well as giving some protection when playing a fish due to its abrasion resistance – ideal when fishing over gravel bars – and then the last 2m tapers down from 0.47mm (30lb) to either 0.27mm (10lb), 0.30mm (12lb), or 0.33 mm (15lb) diameter, depending on which of the three versions you choose. The tapered leaders feature the same properties as the Long Chuck main line, with ultra-low stretch to help compress the rod (heavy mono is typically quite stretchy and hampers the cast); low water absorption; lightweight for its breaking strain, as it is clear (dye adds extra weight), so it stays in the air longer; and a high breaking strain to diameter ratio to reduce drag. Each spool contains five leaders.
